Human trafficking is a serious issue. After reading Half the Sky, a book about modern day slavery, it not only shook the ground I stood on but also motivated me create a club. The club’s main focus is to spread the word of human trafficking not only around the school but also around the community. I originated from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country that is known today as the rape capital of the world. Reading countless journals about misogyny, human trafficking, and modern day slavery have all inspired me to raise awareness to my peers and people around me so that something can be done, now.
