.I am very passionate about human rights, and I believe that human trafficking is a blatant violation of people’s rights. I have participated in events and raised money for both Maiti Nepal, the CNN Heroes award winning organization to stop sex trafficking from Nepal to India, and Invisible Children, an organization that raises awareness and provides programs for children trafficked and used as child soldiers in the LRA’s war against the governments of various African nations. I have also helped organize an event that addressed trafficking in my own community, something that is rarely spoken about. I firmly believe that we must spread awareness of modern day slavery, because nobody should have their humanity stripped from them and everyone should have the opportunity to live a free life with a plethora of opportunities. This board would give me the opportunity to continue to advocate against human trafficking, and to work together with other young people to make a difference.
