I decided I wanted to fight to end slavery in my lifetime when I read a book called Sold, an autobiography about a young girl enslaved as a prostitute and her difficult experiences. The young girl’s story really set on my heart that slavery is a huge issue. However, at first I thought that since I was just another teenage girl from Idaho that I wouldn’t be able to do anything about slavery. Then I went to a Global Prayer Gathering with International Justice Mission, a conference all about fighting to end slavery, and saw people uniting together to make a difference. It showed me that strength comes in numbers, and together we can fight to end slavery for good.
