My first experience of human trafficking came from watching the movie The Whistleblower. I use to believe that something so cruel and violent couldn’t have possibly still existed in our world today.  Let alone in the United States, and in South Florida where I live (my own backyard.) I began to work on advocacy projects and become close with the Human Trafficking Coalition of the Palm Beaches, but I wanted more. I read research articles and laws discussing any types of slavery. One thing is to just listen to an issue, another is to take action and make a difference in lives of others and the world. Nobody should just listen to modern-day slavery, everyone should take action before escalates even further.
