I don’t know when I first learned about modern-day slavery and human trafficking. I’ve seen things online and in magazines, but tried to ignore the harsh realities. I am subscribed to Seventeen magazine, and the June/July issue talked about human trafficking. I finally read what it was about. It touched me and I wanted to help but I didn’t know how. Ironically, the next day I got an e-mail about joining the FDFF from my religion teacher. I thought it was fate and sent in my application. I was accepted and am excited to start making a difference.
