Margaret Alexis Kennedy completed her Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology in 2004.
A former lawyer, she has successfully integrated these professional foci into her research agenda examining sexual exploitation. She has published on child abuse, sexual assault, exploitation through prostitution, internet crime and negative body image. She has received grants to study crime in Clark County and led a number of task forces.
A recognized expert on sexual exploitation, she has testified in court, spoken throughout the United States and been quoted frequently in the media. Dr. Kennedy is Associate Professor, Department of Criminal Justice, at UNLV.
Dr. Alexis Kennedy is Associate Professor, Department of Criminal Justice at UNLV. She received her law degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1993. Her doctoral dissertation on cross-cultural perceptions of child abuse won two American Psychological Association awards (Divisions 37 & 41).
